As you know, I do a lot of devotional readings of the mornings and love to share with my Gather friends when something really gets my attention. I have been reading a book on how complaining sends out negative vibes into the world. I have taught a kids class on stopping complaining (griping, whining, belly-aching, gossiping, etc.). Wow! It was a great class. The kids were so anxious to do it. We wore plastic bracelets and changed them every time we did one of the above mentioned complaining aspects.
We have also had classes on negative vs. positive thoughts and speaking those how it sends darkness vs. light into the world. I used the example of speaking negative and after so much turn the lights off and it is total darkness. Where does the darkness come from? (Satan and his demons thrive there.) then we started with small flashlights saying positive things and the room starts lighting up (God is present in these lights.) This is just a short version of how we approached the negative versus positive.
I had this on my mind as I went to bed last night and kept harboring and praying over the complaining and just wanted to research today and see exactly what complaining is.
What is complaining?
I have read this verse many times and isn't it awesome how no matter how many times you read a verse in the Scripture but you always seem to get something new out of it to apply to what you need to hear at that time? God is so good and awesome!
Oh my, I am going to have to make a series out of this one. LOL It is turning out to be pretty long. I hope this will apply to your life and help you as well. I love sharing with my Gather friends what I am learning and I always pray that it will encourage you and help you through your daily life with God.
I will end this post with this statement and will pick it up next time and go into more detail. I hope this statement gives you something to meditate on today and make your life richer......
Regardless of whatever circumstances may cause discontent or dissatisfaction, complaining is always an expression of unbelief toward God’s order in our life.

What is complaining?
- the outward expression of discontent within
- griping, whining, belly-aching, gossiping, grumbling,
- the KJV of the word complaining is "murmuring"
- OUCH! This is how the Urban dictionary defines it. ~Complaining is usually what hipocritical people do when something displeases them. they would rather use a verbal indication to express their displeasure of a certain thing, rather than taking a stand and doing something about it. OUCH again!
- dictionary.com ~ find fault: to express dissatisfaction, pain, uneasiness, censure, resentment, or grief
- antonyms are rejoice and delight
