Even though we have heard so many of these things all of our lives some of these we have never thought of. I love reading the Scriptures because there is new life in them every day.
Complaining is the opposite of thanksgiving; therefore, thanksgiving is the opposite of complaining. Just had to emphasize that both ways.
No matter what is thrown at us from the devil we have to always keep this verse in our minds and hearts.
“...all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28).
We have to live with this reminder in our lives. We cannot give Satan any lee-way to get into our lives. We have to give thanks in ALL situations in spite of bad situations.
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”
(1 Thess. 5:18).
So no matter what the situation give thanks knowing God is in control and through our faith will work the situation for our good. How can we give thanks in bad situations? Give thanks knowing that God is there with you. We also know God will provide for us as long as we stay in the faith. Remember the grain of mustard seed of faith? So we just gotta have faith knowing God is going to work the situation out and we are going to become a stronger and better person through each situation and challenge that we go through in our life as long as we stay strong in the Lord.
When we complain, we are cracking the door and allowing the devil to enter into our lives. We are giving place for the devil. When Satan enters our lives destruction is sure to follow. He is the destroyer. So we have to do as it says in James 4:7 ~"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
But, we have to keep in mind that complaining is of the devil. So if we complain like the Israelites did in Numbers the final results will be destruction.
“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, As I live, says the LORD, just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above” (Num. 14:27-29).
They send out so many complaints or negativity into the world that God finally allowed the devil to do what they had been predicting with their complaining and whining - destruction.
Let's stop and think about this.
God is thanksgiving, positive, contentment, satisfaction, praiseworthy, etc. Just to mention some of the things we have discussed in this series.
VS.
Satan is complaining, negative, discontentment, dis-satisfaction, unworthy, etc.
